Top WWE Superstars & Jobbers: 2018 Week 1
Each week, we look through the win-loss records of the WWE Superstars during the year to see who really are the best and worst, if wins and losses actually mattered. You can view more over in our Statistics section. You can also help support us by subscribing to our Patreon.
Here we go again! With the start of a new year, everyone gets a fresh start in our win/loss rankings with a clean record. That also means the first few weeks get a bit weird with unexpected people topping the lists. A reminder that these include all televised matches, and the Mixed Match Challenge in a couple weeks will be included since it includes all signed superstars unlike the annual tournaments held on the WWE Network. Also as we start filling out these lists, we’re only including superstars with at least one win.
Top Raw Superstars
# | Superstar | W-L-D | Prev | Peak |
1 | Goldust | 2-0-0 | – | 1 |
2 | Braun Strowman | 1-0-0 | – | 2 |
3 | Bray Wyatt | 1-0-0 | – | 3 |
4 | Finn Bálor | 1-0-0 | – | 4 |
5 | Jason Jordan | 1-0-0 | – | 5 |
6 | Karl Anderson | 1-0-0 | – | 6 |
7 | Luke Gallows | 1-0-0 | – | 7 |
8 | Roman Reigns | 1-0-0 | – | 8 |
I feel like Goldust cheated his way to the top spot here in the first week of the year. He is not a Cruiserweight, yet he appeared in matches involving them both on Raw and 205 Live, and used his larger size to win both. The Good Brothers also attached themselves to Finn Bálor (last year’s Top Raw Superstar) to give themselves a boost. We’ll see how long they keep that going.
Top SmackDown Superstars
# | Superstar | W-L-D | Prev | Peak |
1 | Jey Uso | 1-0-0 | – | 1 |
2 | Jimmy Uso | 1-0-0 | – | 2 |
3 | Sami Zayn | 1-0-0 | – | 3 |
4 | Xavier Woods | 1-0-0 | – | 4 |
The Usos continue their dominance in the tag division, despite how weird the end of the match was. Xavier Woods picked up a big win in the United States Championship tournament, and Sami Zayn got a huge victory over the WWE Champion. That last match will have repercussions a bit further down in this article.
Top Cruiserweights
# | Superstar | W-L-D | Prev | Peak |
1 | Cedric Alexander | 2-0-0 | – | 1 |
2 | TJP | 1-0-0 | – | 2 |
3 | Akira Tozawa | 1-1-0 | – | 3 |
Cedric Alexander teaming with Goldust twice this week helped him regain the top spot that he held at the end of last year. TJP also made his return to action on 205 Live with a big win over Akira Tozawa. Tozawa still made it on the list with a win on Main Event.
Top NXT Superstars
# | Superstar | W-L-D | Prev | Peak |
The only match on NXT this week was from the house show before NXT TakeOver: WarGames. While that still counts for this year’s rankings due to airing it for the first time this week, Drew McIntyre is currently out with an injury so he is not active for the rankings. So… this list remains empty.
Top Female Superstars
# | Superstar | Brand | W-L-D | Prev | Peak |
1 | Asuka | RAW | 1-0-0 | – | 1 |
2 | Dana Brooke | RAW | 1-0-0 | – | 2 |
3 | Liv Morgan | SD | 1-0-0 | – | 3 |
4 | Ruby Riott | SD | 1-0-0 | – | 4 |
5 | Sarah Logan | SD | 1-1-0 | – | 5 |
Asuka didn’t skip a beat as she remains on top of the women’s rankings with a big non-title win over Alexa Bliss on Raw. Dana Brooke picked up a win on Main Event to surprisingly take the silver position. Rounding out the Top 5 is The Riott Squad who got a tag victory on SmackDown. I’m not happy seeing Liv Morgan on here and hope this is very temporary.
Top Jobbers
# | Superstar | Brand | W-L-D | Prev |
1 | Ariya Daivari | RAW | 0-2-0 | – |
2 | Drew Gulak | RAW | 0-2-0 | – |
3 | AJ Styles | SD | 0-1-0 | – |
4 | Adam Cole | NXT | 0-1-0 | – |
5 | Aiden English | SD | 0-1-0 | – |
6 | Alexa Bliss | RAW | 0-1-0 | – |
7 | Apollo Crews | RAW | 0-1-0 | – |
8 | Bo Dallas | RAW | 0-1-0 | – |
9 | Carmella | SD | 0-1-0 | – |
10 | Cesaro | RAW | 0-1-0 | – |
With the jobbers list covering everything, this is the one category where we can fill out a full Top 10. Ariya Daivari and Drew Gulak top it with their two loses this week, but what’s super surprising is seeing WWE Champion AJ Styles and Raw Women’s Champion Alexa Bliss here. Part of the weirdness of these early weeks, but with Bliss this can also be attributed to the weirdness of how they book the women.
