All Elite Wrestling, Double or Nothing Announced

There have been teases to an announcement at midnight Pacific on New Year’s Day on “Being The Elite”, and now that time has finally come. And it’s exactly what everyone expected.

On a new episode of “Being The Elite”, All Elite Wrestling has been announced as being a thing that will be launching in 2019. From the video, it appears that Cody, the Young Bucks, Hangman Page, and SCU will be a part of this new company. Oddly enough though, Marty Scurll and Kenny Omega were missing, so their status with AEW is unknown.

They also announced Double or Nothing as the follow-up to the highly successfully All In event last year in Chicago. The only information given is there will be an event on January 8th at 5PM ET at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Florida that will provide more details. With rumors that there are ties between AEW and the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars (and Cody posting and deleting a picture of a Jaguars-themed weight belt for Wrestle Kingdom), this totally makes sense. But to try to hold this event at the Jaguars stadium seems a bit too ambitious, unless they’re expecting not to sell it out. I guess we’ll find out soon, but I don’t have a great feeling about all of this personally.
